The Advisory Committee consists of former presidents of the association. Its tasks include advising the Executive Committee in ethical and policy-related issues related to science, teaching and patient care.
The committee may also function as an ombudsman in case of conduct-related disputes or conflicts between members. A third, crucial role: DGPPN members can confide in any of the Advisory Committee members if they are experiencing a personal or professional crisis.
